A beautiful night atop the Mori Tower…from the helipad you can see Tokyo’s version of the Eiffel Tower…

As I drifted through Tokyo i turned a corner and came upon a hallway basked in white, and honestly the sensation was one of disorientation. It felt like the world had fallen away…the hallway turned right and into a vast cavern of a room and this is what I saw.

There is a beautiful place in Kyoto where you can lose yourself in a pristine bamboo forest. The bamboo rises so very high in the sky and protects you from a sun that tries unsuccessfully to penetrate the canopy. I would definitely go back again, given the chance.

Went to Washington state this week and took some of my non-working time to explore the area I was in… this was one of the shots I got after waking up at 3:50 A.M. Anyone that knows me knows that I am more likely to stay up until that time than to get up that early, but I did. I will be more mindful in the future of the summer solstice when thinking about sunrise shooting.

On another note…sorry for the layoff, but just have been busy and needed to charge the creative juices. It would seem that all bloggers reach a point of apathy and reflection about what they are trying to communicate and what they want out of the experience.

So I spent a day (a few weeks ago) with several women who were all about the “The Aerial Arts”. They twisted and bent for me for several hours and this is a product of me messing around in the post of some of the pictures…

Just another day at the mall. It was late at night and with very few people left it made for an intimate time to shoot with the former President…

I have been shooting more people lately than other things as I try to improve upon my craft. I stumbled upon this girl quite by accident and I believe that we will be shooting more in the coming months. All in all, she impresses me with her strength. If you look at the details of the pic…she has no hands on the pole. Amazing…

This weekend I had the pleasure of having a “caddy” with me who happened to be my cousin. My full kit weighs about 30 lbs, so it is a pleasure anytime I can walk freely without it’s burden. He and I strolled around the National Cathedral in the dead of night catching up on old times and talking photography. I could definitely see myself being a vampire of the night, sucking up the images that feed my soul.

This weekend I had the opportunity to go to the Sand Dunes National Park located in Southern Colorado and wander around before the snows came. They are truly amazing in both size and location. I have some great pics taken with snow capped mountains as back drops but tried this photo as a pure composition piece.

While in Iraq, I met this man who looked a little war-torn. He was kind enough to stop and let me snap a photo. Despite what many think, he is an expat and not an Iraqi.
